FLO Standards

FLO Standards guarantee a minimum price that is fair for producers. These standards provide a Fairtrade Premium that the producer must invest in projects developing its social, economic and environmental situation. FLO standards strive to achieve mutually beneficial long term trading relationships. In addition, they set specific development criteria and minimum objectives for social, economic and environmental sustainability.

Licensees sign contracts with a FLO-affiliated national initiative to purchase Fair Trade Certified products and
ingredients from FLO registered producers. There are two types of licensees: Licensee Labelers and Licensee
Processors. To qualify and maintain their license to sell Fair Trade Certified products, licensees must report
transactions with traders/producer organizations every quarter, regularly undergo auditing of their supply chain
and use Fairtrade certified logo according to the terms set out in the trademark licensee agreement initially signed.
